In order for the signal frequencies from multiple dishes of the MeerKAT radio telescope array to be combined with accuracy, an analysis system needed to be created. The real time analyser allows feeds from all the composite antenna structures to be ‘read’ in while eliminating noise. The co-ordinates of the astronomical structures that are being observed by the telescope must be exactly aligned in order to retrieve accurate data.
